| Proposal to use the Exeter Castle site as an internet resource Life Bytes has concentrated on keeping up with the latest aspects of the internet. Currently there is no suitable space for this in Exeter. Some sites that concentrate on food can offer web access but with limited support. This may be the future for web access, as part of the mix such as the free wi-fi in the Southgate Hotel. The Castle could be on a scale to support a significant internet project, with training and technical development. A performance space could connect with streaming media. During Animated Exeter there were examples of how digital media can be displayed on plasma. The site could also be used by Rougemont Television Local aimed at various local screens. There will be a meeting at Exeter City Library on April 1st to discuss possibilities. Training proposals will include a 'critical' version of the e-Citizen syllabus. New material will come from the new government site on ITsafe. This features excellent guides to security issues. More detail. This proposal comes from Internet Express, the domain of the first internet café in Exeter, and now online only. Contact Will Pollard will.pollard@gmail.com PDF file, requires Acrobat Reader |
